I recently realized that the most dangerous state for a personal blog is not having no readers.

It is preserving the past without influencing the future.

An article gets written, published, and archived. A finished project goes into the portfolio. Years later, those things can still show:

I once thought about these questions and made these things.

But if a published article never affects a later judgment, and a finished project never makes the next undertaking easier, the blog is essentially an increasingly polished filing cabinet.

I do not want to count finishing five books in their original English as completing the task. This checklist sets the standards for my learning plan: each book should leave me with something I can use, test, and review.

Six questions for every piece of work

I will check each learning outcome against these six questions:

1. Problem: What real problem did I start with?
2. Input: What new model did the book give me?
3. Application: Where, specifically, did I apply it?
4. Evidence: What shows that it made a difference?
5. Limitations: What remains unresolved?
6. Artifact: What have I made that I can keep using?

I will update the checklist below as my reading progresses.

When it comes to testing itself, the most important thing at that time is to see whether it is strong enough to be patient, not how ambitious its goals are. It’s easier to do it, but it’s even more disappointing to know that you don’t try to do it. While it is unlikely that the road ahead will go smoothly, we will encourage you on the ground as we work to do so. It’s more worth living together in a more spiritual state!
